Bulgaria and five other EU member states demand revision of haulage rules

Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania and Hungary signed today a letter demanding a revision of the new haulage rules, adopted by the European Parliament. Our demand is based on the fact that the cargo vehicles which have to return to the first country once in four weeks would cause environmental pollution, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov who is attending the meeting of the European Council in Brussels, explained. In his words, the haulage rules have been changed so many times that they  have already lost their original meaning. In their letter, the six EU member states point out that a detailed discussion, which takes into consideration the national specifics of all member states, including the ones situated along the EU external border, is necessary.
