Bulgaria’s inflation hits seven year-high in December

In December 2019, Bulgaria’s annual inflation accelerated to 3.8% from 3% registered in the previous month. In the last month of 2019 this country’s inflation hit the highest rate since January 2013. Prices of pork increased with 7.9% as compared to November. Prices of vegetables saw 8% increase, prices of tourism trips in Bulgaria increased with 15.7% and prices of international flights rose 28.9%. 

The Bulgarian National Bank expects that the inflation rate will slow down slightly in the first quarter of 2020. According to projections of Unicredit bank, Bulgaria’s inflation in 2020 will reach 2.7%.
