Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 under the baton of Yordan Kamdzhalov and the Ruse Philharmonic will open this year’s edition of the March Music Days. The 60th edition of one of the oldest and most renowned international festivals in Bulgaria will be held from 13 to 29 March in Ruse.
The festival, dedicated to its creators Iliya Temkov, Sasha Popov and Mikhail Katev, will pass under the motto "Circles of Time". The main highlight of the program will be the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth, which is why many works from the German classic composer will be performed. Foreign soloists and ensembles who will attend the music forum include violinist Yuri Bashmet with the Moscow Soloists Ensemble, the Modigliani String Quartet, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra with violinist Sergej Krylov, the Romanian National Symphony Orchestra Orchestra. Prominent Bulgarian musicians such as conductor Emil Tabakov, violinists Svetlin Roussev and Mincho Minchev, pianists Plamena Mangova, Evgeni Bozhanov and Victoria Vasilenko will also appear on the stage. Also of interest is the debut of The British a capella group Queen`s Six, which consists of professional church singers who regularly appear in front of the British royal family.
