The average age of the patients who have died is 75 but there are 8 people in Bulgaria now, aged 20 and 50, who are displaying severe symptoms, General Mutafchiiski added. He stated he cannot predict when the peak of the infection will be reached.

Interior Minister Mladen Marinov announced that around 7,000 people have been quarantined nationwide. Several dozen pre-trial proceedings have been instituted against individuals who have broken the isolation they are subject to.

Interior Ministry Secretary General Ivaylo Ivanov stated that there are a great many people moving around outdoors who are not complying with the prevention measures. He stressed that unless the current measures ordered are observed the restrictions will be tightened.
