EC: Lorries wait for almost 2 hours to cross border between Romania and Bulgaria

Lorries have to wait for almost 2 hours to be able to cross the border between Romania and Bulgaria, said European Commission spokesperson Stefan De Keersmaecker.

He stated that after the guidelines given by the Commission yesterday for “green corridors”, priority lanes for transporting freight across the EU member countries, there are no internal borders where trucks have to wait for 4 or more hours.

However, a Bulgarian truck driver told the BNR that hundreds of trucks were blocked in kilometres-long lines for a third day between the Romanian town Turnu Severin and Danube Bridge 2. There are no lines of trucks travelling from Bulgaria to Romania, the Bulgarian border police say.
