Bulgaria’s top tennis player Grigor Dimitrov has donated ventilators to the hospital in his home town of Haskovo in Southern Bulgaria to assist in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. Dimitrov is the second foremost name in Bulgarian sports to have made a donation after Bulgaria's football star Dimitar Berbatov who made a donation to the Bulgarian Medical Association for the purchase of consumables.
Grigor Dimitrov is now in California after tennis tournaments have been suspended. "I always liked the saying "Unity makes strength". We need to be more united in such situations. Whenver I win, I always feel that also Bulgaria wins. We have a big heart and we continue forward, let us love the people around us and support each other. We are a very strong nation", Grigor Dimitrov commented.
The medical equipment is expected to arrive in Haskovo soon.
