Mass testing for coronavirus begins in Bulgaria

So far it was people suspected of having contracted Covid-19 and those connected with them that were tested. From now on mass testing of the public is beginning in Bulgaria, Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev announced.

There are currently 20,000 PCR tests in the country but many more are expected to be donated. Minister Ananiev pointed out that according to a European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control report, thanks to the preventive measures it has taken, Bulgaria is top of the list of countries with the fewest coronavirus cases per 100,000 population, and in third position in the number of deaths per 100,000 after Slovakia and Latvia.
