On Monday, one day after Easter, Orthodox Christians mark the beginning of the Bright Week.
In Christian Orthodox tradition it is a week dedicated to the light which the resurrection of Jesus Christ brings to the world, and so every one of the days of the week, starting on Monday is called “bright”. People are allowed to eat meat, including on the days of fasting – Wednesday and Friday.
Just as during the Easter holidays, believers, who decide to take part in religious services, are called upon to observe all rules and measures connected with the Covid-19 pandemic.
