Bulgarian journalist wins Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting as part of New York Times team

Bulgarian journalist Boryana Dzhambazova is among the winners of the shared Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting, the Association of European Journalists in Bulgaria announced. She was distinguished as part of the team of the New York Times which developed a series looking into Putin's Shadow Warfare to undermine the West. 
The winners of the Pulitzer prize this year were announced on Monday evening.

The stories in the New York Times series reveal the actions of the Russian secret services in Europe and the world. Dzhambazova was involved in covering the poisoning attempt of Bulgarian arms dealer Emilian Gebrev

Boryana Dzhambazova is a freelance journalist who writes for both Bulgarian and foreign media. She began her career in journalism in 2005, covering a wide range of topics – from economic and political developments to social affairs and human rights issues. 
Her work has appeared in the New York Times, the Economist, Business Week, and Fast Company. She holds a master’s degree in new media from New York University. She is also member of the managing board of the Association of European Journalists in Bulgaria.
