State-owned gas stations will be located in big regional centers in order to have more balance in the cities. We believe that they should be built where there is no competition, said Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov.

When there is a rise in oil prices, the reaction of the Bulgarian market is instantaneous, but when the raw material becomes cheaper, reaction slows down. With state-owned gas stations, society will receive a faster and more accurate response to real prices, the Minister said.

It will take 2 years to create a completely new oil company with 100 stations. The first gas station may be ready to open in 9 months, the Minister added.
