Parliament adopts changes for 9% VAT on books, restaurants

The proposal of GERB and the United Patriots to reduce VAT on restaurants, catering services and books has been adopted at first reading by the National Assembly. From July 1 this year until the end of 2021, VAT on these services and goods will be 9%. Vouchers for vacations at state-owned bases for medics, police officers and employees at the front line in the fight against coronavirus are also planned. The changes are expected to be finally voted on in the coming weeks.
