“On Botev Day, let us lay flowers at the nearest monument to all those who laid down their lives for the liberation of Bulgaria. Despite the pandemic, let us bow down in memory of our forefathers who fought for our freedom,” Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Krasimir Karakachanov said.

“Because of the anti-epidemic measures and the ban on the gathering of large groups of people which are going to prevent the holding of the traditional Botev celebrations, I urge every Bulgarian to take a photograph and post it to their profiles on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to show that divided we can stand together and pay our due respects to the heroes,” Karakachanov said.
