The Ministry of Agriculture has regularly informed the European Commission of the results of the checks carried out of European schemes in Bulgaria financed by national and European funding.

At a briefing Minister of Agriculture and Food Desislava Taneva commented that in 2019 control reached 50% of the areas declared for subsidy, while European Commission regulations stipulate 5%. The media have been notified of the results of the checks, while farmers who have committed violations have been sanctioned. That is why producers who have followed the rules have received higher subsidies, Ministry officials said.
