At its first meeting after the lifting of restrictions due to Covid-19, the Council for Work with Bulgarians Abroad under Vice President Iliana Yotova has discussed current issues of Bulgarian communities in historical diasporas. One topic on the agenda was also the administrative-territorial reform in Ukraine. The general opinion is that in order to preserve the integrity of the Bolhrad region, Bulgaria should rely on the policy of negotiations and concrete steps, and not on emotions.
The need to preserve not only the Bulgarian identity in this region, but also to invest in its development was emphasized.
