Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev and US Ambassador to Bulgaria Herro Mustafa signed a letter of intent for cooperation in healthcare between the governments of Bulgaria and of the USA. To this moment there has been no such document on bilateral cooperation. The agreement will cover an initial five-year period which may be extended by mutual decision.

The parties will collaborate in several priority healthcare areas such as best practices for prevention and treatment of infectious diseases; e-health initiatives; and exchanges for training of medical professionals.
