As of 6 July, Slovakia is introducing stricter requirements for entry into the country by Bulgarian citizens.
All Bulgarians wishing to enter the territory of Slovakia are required to have a negative PCR test result. The test has to have been performed no earlier than 96 hours prior to arrival at the border of Slovakia. But even with a negative test result, Bulgarian citizens are still subject to 5-day quarantine, after which a second test has to be performed. Only Bulgarian nationals with a negative result from the second test will be free to travel inside the country.
Bulgaria was stricken off Slovakia’s safe countries list, whose citizens are free to enter without quarantine. As of 19 June, Bulgarian citizens are allowed 12-hour transit passage without quarantine.
