The transfer of responsibility to the National Assembly is incorrect, because the three services that are part of the commission which decides who will be guarded by the National Service for Protection are controlled by the Parliament, the head of the Parliamentary group of the ruling GERB party Daniela Daritkova told BNT on occasion of the recent statement of President Rumen Radev. “If President Radev thinks that Ahmed Dogan and Delyan Peevski should not be guarded by the National Service for Protection, he must monitor the work of the commission. The President should take his responsibility”, MP Daritkova said further. In her words, “if we adhere to the law and the institutions, the citizens’ trust in them will be greater”. According to the head of the parliamentary group of GERB, “the scandal is an attempt to divert attention from the state’s efforts to tackle the coronavirus crisis”.
