GERB and the United Patriots have proposed legislative amendments that will allow the head of the National Service for Protection to name the persons that are protected by NSP. The two parties proposed the amendments on the ground that the National Service for Protection is subordinate to this country’s President and responsibility should not be blurred. The current commission will stop functioning and the names of the people who will be protected by NSP will be determined on the basis of information from the State Agency for National Security, the Ministry of Interior and the intelligence services. The Parliamentary group of GERB party also demanded the resignation of the current head of the National Service for Protection General Krasimir Stanchev and the immediate dismissal of the guards from the National Service for Protection who took part at the events near Rosenets Park and wrestled away the leader of Yes, Bulgaria! Hristo Ivanov and his supporters near the summer residence of the honorary Chairman of DPS Ahmed Dogan.
