Bulgaria’s former Minister of Defense and Ambassador to NATO Boyko Noev called on this country’s Constitutional Court to publish immediately the ruling on the immunity of the Bulgarian President. “If the immunity of the Presidential institution is confirmed, as all respected lawyers expect, this would mean that sending armed persons against the Presidency is unconstitutional”, Boyko Noev commented. Several days ago, the Special Prosecutor’s Office entered the Presidential administtration building, searched offices of senior officials employed at the Presidential administration and seized documents. Two advisors of President Radev were detained in the operation. According to Boyko Noev, if the Constitutional Court confirms the immunity of the Bulgarian President, this could not only lead to the resignation of Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev, but also to investigation into his actions as Prosecutor General.
