Foreign athletes are to join the traditional swimming marathon from Saint Anastasia Island to the coastal city of Burgas. Four American nationals have submitted applications to participate at the marathon with the assistance of the United States Embassy in Sofia. The competition will take place on July 18, Saturday. Nearly 60 Bulgarians will also swim the seven-kilometer distance. The swimming marathon is to begin at 9.30 am.
