Deputy Prime Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva meets with British Ambassador Emma Hopkins

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva received British Ambassador to Bulgaria Emma Hopkins for a farewell meeting before the expiry of her term of office in Bulgaria.

Minister Zaharieva thanked Ambassador Hopkins for the efforts to intensify the dialogue between Bulgaria and Great Britain in foreign policy, economy and tourism.

“We hope that the close cooperation with Bulgaria will continue after Great Britain leaves the EU,” Ekaterina Zaharieva said.

The talking points included the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on tourist and trade exchange between the two countries. HE Hopkins congratulated Bulgaria on the country’s entry into the ERM II exchange rate mechanism and the banking union.
