Flooded streets, subways and private properties - this is the balance after the torrential rain last night over Sofia. Throughout the night, the teams of Emergency Aid and Prevention and the fire brigade were repairing damages caused by the heavy rain. They responded to 36 signals for floods and fallen branches and trees due to the downpour, the press center of Sofia Municipality announced.

At the moment, rivers have normal conductivity and no spills, dams are released in a controlled manner, and the public transport moves along its regular routes.
Heavy rains also fell in northwestern Bulgaria and in Bulgaria's second biggest city Plovdiv. There were hailstorms in some regions.
There is a forecast for dangerous phenomena for today as well. Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and hail is expected again in the afternoon.
