1,200 municipal roads in Bulgaria are in poor condition, 900 in unsatisfactory condition and only 200 municipal roads are in good condition. This shows an analysis of the condition of the municipal road network.
According to the document, 60% of municipal roads or parts of them need repair because their pavement is damaged. However, the funds for their renovation cannot be provided through an increase in the targeted capital expenditure subsidy, nor through additional government transfers.

The Management Board of the National Association of Municipalities will propose the creation of a national program "Municipal Roads" with an annual budget of BGN 300 million, provided by the state budget.
