Clashes have occurred between masked men and protesters against the government before and after the national conference of GERB political party held today in Sofia
Some of the young people who attacked the demonstrators also showed physical aggression against journalists. Among the attacked persons is Free Europe journalist Polina Paunova. When she tried to film the aggressive men, her phone was forcibly taken and thrown away. Officials from GERB press centre told Free Europe that the aggressive men were provocateurs and tried to attack GERB supporters as well.

Uniformed police officers formed a cordon to remove the protesting citizens from the spot, but the provocateurs were not detained by the police, BNR reports.
