Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Bulgaria has seen a 60% drop in international tourists since the beginning of the year, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariana Nikolova announced in Plovdiv.
There are 70,000 reservations on the Black Sea coast for guests from Turkey, Israel, Moldova and Belarus, but measures need to be taken for their arrival, Nikolova said.
The Deputy Prime Minister criticized the current model for the development of Bulgarian tourism. "We cannot present ourselves as a country with only summer and winter tourism. We have to present ourselves as a four-season, year-round destination", Nikolova is adamant.
