Despite crisis, there is slight increase in consumer confidence

In July 2020, consumer confidence rose by 3.3 percentage points compared to April, the National Statistical Institute has reported. The rise among the urban population is 2.7 points, while for the people living in the villages - 4.5 points.

Consumers see some positive changes in the development of the general economic situation in the past 12 months. The expectations of the people living in the villages are that the trend would continue in the next 12 months, while the urban population is more reserved. Expectations of the respondents for revenue growth have decreased by 1.8 points.

Consumers believe that there is a slight decrease in prices and have low inflation expectations. Fears of rising unemployment rose by 10.9 points.
