People are gathering for the 30th night of anti-government protests, called at 8 PM in front of the Council of Ministers building in Sofia.

Tonight’s protests will pass under the motto: Rebellion against the Borissov dictatorship!

“Bring food and water with you and everything you need to build a barricade. Together we are strong, only when we are together shall we succeed!” wrote the organizers of the protest – the so-called “toxic trio” – on Facebook. The protesters are demanding the resignation of the government and of Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev, as well as machine voting.

At an extraordinary briefing the Sofia Metropolitan Police Directorate called for the protests to be peaceful. Chief Commissioner Krasimira Stoyadinova of the security police department of the Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior warned that texts have been posted on Facebook provoking citizens to attack police and urging them to commit acts of vandalism, and called on the public not to succumb to provocations.

An hour ago a man was detained by police for carrying a baseball bat. According to protesters he was not part of the protest, BNR’s reporters say.

Dozens of protesters have gathered in front of the town council building in Plovdiv.

A protest has been called in front of the town council building in Stara Zagora for 8 PM.

This morning the police dismantled the tent camps put up by protesters at key intersections in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna, and the tents blocking the road near Stara Zagora airport.
