Cape Kaliakra in the northern portion of Bulgaria’s Black Sea coastline is enjoying a significant amount of interest by tourists this year. The predictions that tourist numbers would be extremely low because of the coronavirus have not been proved true, indicate data from the summer season so far.

Around 24,000 tourists have been to Kaliakra in the period up until 15 July. Besides visitors from Bulgaria, there is a considerable amount of interest by tourists from Romania as well. Organized groups are rare, most visits are by individual tourists, local tourist operators say, BNR’s correspondent Maya Shtarbanova reports.
