On the 42nd day of anti-government protests in Bulgaria, three central Sofia intersections remain blocked - at Eagles' Bridge, in front of Sofia University and the junction between the Presidency and the Council of Ministers. Participants in the ongoing evening protest demanding the resignation of the government and Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev are already gathering.
In Ruse, a protest rally with cars blocked traffic for an hour at the Danube Bridge border checkpoint. Protesters chanted "Resignation!" and "Mafia out!". The desire of the participants to completely stop the traffic on the bridge facility was not achieved, as the police had provided bypass roads for cars and trucks, BNR correspondent Asya Pencheva reported from Ruse.
The protesters in Varna promise a "surprise blockade" tonight. They wrote on Facebook that two days ago the police had been withdrawn from the protests and is no longer guarding them. According to the protesters, one of them was attacked while he was sleeping, and the police refused to offer him help.
