Tourist businesses continue to declare need for support

74% of hotels and guest houses in Bulgaria cannot meet the costs of their activities and need financial assistance to survive, according to a survey conducted by the National Statistical Institute. 

44 percent of respondents say that their income covers only half of the costs incurred. One fourth of respondents cannot cope at all without financial help or new loans. 
15% of accommodation establishments plan to either freeze their activities temporarily or close them altogether. In March, their share was 50 percent. 
42% say they will continue their activities, but at a reduced volume. In March, the same answer was given by 35 percent of the companies participating in the survey.
