A clinical trial of a vaccine against Covid-19 will begin in Bulgaria, the chairman of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Association of Clinical Research, Prof. Borislav Borissov, told Trud daily. A contract for this will soon be signed with a multinational pharmaceutical company. The test will be in the third phase of development, as the first 2 phases have already been conducted in countries with a severe epidemiological situation. The number of infections in Bulgaria does not exceed 5-6%.
We are working around the clock on the project and will soon announce the name of the manufacturer, Assoc. Prof. Borissov said.
In the third phase of the clinical study, lasting from 6 to 12 months, the tolerance to the vaccine is to be checked, immunologist Acad. Bogdan Petrunov explained.
