Citizens dissatisfied with Borissov's government gather in protest for 53rd evening

The anti-government protests in Bulgaria continue for the 53rd evening. The three key crossroads in Sofia remain closed - at Sofia University, Eagles' Bridge and Nezavisimost Square. 

In Varna, the crossroads in front of the municipality also remains blocked by anti-government protesters.

On social networks, Bulgarians living abroad continue to express their support for the protest.
At 12 o'clock noon, Bulgarian nationals once again gathered in front of the building of the European parliament in Brussels with demands for resignation of the cabinet of Boyko Borissov and of the prosecutor general Ivan Geshev as well as observing the rule of law.
On Monday, August 31, Bulgarians citizens will gather in protest in front of the Representation of the European Commission in Sofia. Once again, they will call on all members of the European Parliament, European Commissioners, Member State governments, European media, non-governmental organizations and, above all, European citizens to take a firm stand on what is happening in Bulgaria.
"It is time for European leaders to open their eyes!", reads the address of Bulgarians living abroad. "The European Union can be vigilant about unfair elections outside the union, such as the recent elections in Belarus. At the same time, in a member state of the union, which has had systematic violations and abuses of the electoral process for years, such actions remain without comment," the message further reads.
