On the 56th day of civil discontent in Bulgaria, a national protest called "Grand National Uprising" is taking took place in the centre of Sofia in the space between the Council of Ministers, the Presidency and the Parliament. The demands are for the resignation of Boyko Borissov's government and of the prosecutor general Ivan Geshev.

The police has detained more than 35 persons - football fans with criminal records, whose actions led to the escalation of the protest, the Interior Ministry said at a briefing.
Tonight a protest under the motto "Leave! Now!" is also held on the streets of the Black Sea city of Burgas, BNR Burgas reports.
Actions in support of the protests in Bulgaria are also organized by Bulgarian communities abroad - in London, Paris, The Hague, Brussels, Cologne, Vancouver, Chicago, Australia and New Zealand and others.
