The union of probation officers, psychologists and social workers in prisons is pushing for an increase in the number of employees who work with prisoners on the front lines. This was announced from Veliko Tarnovo by the BNR correspondent Zdravka Maslyankova, who was attending a reporting meeting of the union.
The worst is the personnel crisis for social workers in the Central Sofia Prison. In some places, one employee is required to work with more than 100 prisoners when European standards stipulate the number at up to 40 people.
