What are the myths and what is the truth about diets, about the play of genes, and how we can age more slowly. What are the challenges of artificial intelligence?
You can find out the answers to these and other intriguing questions at the 10th edition of Sofia Science Festival taking place in Sofia Tech Park on 26th and 27th September. Despite Covid-19 researchers and scientists from Bulgaria and other countries are coming together to present the wonders of the world we live in. Visitors will be able to find out how we can preserve our planet by consuming less, what the future of medicine is, what biological risks lie in store and how we can prepare for them. And also: space catastrophes, volcanoes and frozen moons, and can we become a bi-planetary species.
Some significant anniversaries will be marked: the centennial birth anniversaries of Rosalind Franklin, Ray Bradbury and Isaac Asimov, 90 years since the discovery of the planet Pluto, 30 years since the launch of the Hubble telescope.
The festival, a space where there is no dividing line between culture and science, was created in 2011 by the British Council and the Forum Democrit, and takes place under the patronage of the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science. From its very first year it has attracted a large number of supporters.
