Day 79: Protesters and police clash in front of Bulgarian National Television

Slogans like "Resignation", "Mafia" and "Mafia out" were heard last night in front of the Sofia Municipality building, and eggs flew towards its facade. On the 79th day of the anti-government protests in Bulgaria, the name of Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova was added to the demands for the resignation of the government and the chief prosecutor.

Clashes between police and protesters erupted in the area of ​​the Bulgarian National Television main building after supporters of the BOEC movement tried to enter the building and take part in the "Panorama" show. Meanwhile, Health Minister Kostadin Angelov remained blocked inside the BNR, but an hour later police managed to push the protesters and put him in his car. No one was seriously injured.

During the protests, the members of the Toxic Trio raised the question of why and at what price Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev was living in Villa 5 in the Boyana state residence. Lawyer Nikolay Hadjigenov explained that the renovation of the building cost BGN 252,000 without VAT and that the value of its furniture exceeded the amount for its renovation.
