25 euros more per month for pensioners during pandemic

Retirees will receive additional 50 levs (25.56 euros) each month for the duration of the pandemic. Pensions will then be indexed. This was what Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said in front of local residents in the village of Lesidren near Lovech. "We are thinking about you, but we cannot raise pensions and give BGN 50 on top at the same time, because fortunately you are many, but this is over EUR 55 million per month," Borissov said as quoted by BNR reporters.

According to the initial decision of the government, the sum was to be given in the months from July to September, as part of the social measures against the consequences of the pandemic.
