Tsvetana Pironkova qualifies directly for third round of Roland Garros

The winner of 23 Grand Slam titles Serena Williams has pulled out of Roland Garros tennis tournament with an injury. At a press conference she pointed out that her decision was due to an Achilles tendon injury. The US tennis player was supposed to face Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova later on Wednesday in the second round of the tournament.

Thus, Pironkova has qualified directly to the third round of Roland Garros where she is to face Barbora Strýcová (Czechia) or Barbora Krejcikova (Czechia), BTA informs.
