Closing all schools over coronavirus is not to be expected: Chief State Health Inspector
“We cannot talk of coronavirus outbreaks in schools. I will not respond to speculations about when and whether schools will switch over to distance learning," Chief State Health Inspector Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev said for BNT. In classes where there are carriers of the virus, there will be 14 days of distance learning. Certain schools will also be closed if several classes are affected.
"This year there will be no flu breaks, but a transition to tuition in an electronic environment," Assoc. Prof. Kunchev added.
Bulgaria reports 276 new Covid-19 cases, 5.83% of PCR tests performed
Bulgaria reported 276 newly registered cases of coronavirus infection out of 4,736 PCR tests performed during the past 24 hours. The highest number of new infections is in Sofia - 52, followed by Blagoevgrad - 49 and Plovdiv - 29. 6 people have died. A total of 814 coronavirus patients remain in hospital, 44 are in intensive care wards. 150 people have recovered, Single Information Portal data show.
Coronavirus outbreak in hospice in Targovishte
A total of 29 people have tested positive for coronavirus there, BNT reports. The remaining people at the hospice have been quarantined and visiting hours have been cancelled. All safety and prevention measures have been taken and the staff is wearing protective clothing and shields.
Fans allowed at indoor sports events
By order of Health Minister Kostadin Anegelov fans are allowed to attend indoor sporting events. They must be at least one seat apart and are required to keep a physical distance of at least 1.5 meters. Sporting events are allowed at 50% of spectator capacity.
By force of the same order, personal development support centers can resume their activities in accordance with the Covid-19 guidelines prepared by the Ministry of Education and Science.
Ukrainian nationals to travel to Bulgaria only with negative PCR test
As of October 1, by order of Bulgaria’s Minister of Health, all Ukrainian nationals entering Bulgarian territory will be required to provide a document for negative PCR tests.
Unemployment at 7.3% in conditions of Covid-19
“Over 320 million Leva has so far been mobilized from OP Human Resources Development for tackling the consequences of the Covid-19 crisis,” said Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy Zornitsa Rusinova for the BNR.
