Dr. Zlatko Minev is the new winner of the John Atanasoff Award, presented by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev. The award is named after the world-famous inventor of Bulgarian origin John Atanasov - creator of the first digital computer. It is given to young Bulgarian scientists in the field of computer science for achievements worldwide, BNR reported.

As a student at Yale, Minev proposed and carried out an experiment to resolve a 100-year dispute between Niels Bohr, Erwin Schrödinger and Albert Einstein. Thanks to the breakthrough, future quantum computers will be able solve problems that classical computers could not solve in millions of years, the reasons for the award read.
