The support of the European People’s Party for GERB is an investment in the party. The speech of the leader of the European People’s Party in the European Parliament Manfred Weber in support of GERB party has much more weight than the criticism expressed, political scientist Professor Petar-Emil Mitev said for BNR. If the European Parliament could change governments, it would have changed them long ago in Poland or in Hungary. The resolution of the European Parliament cannot provoke direct political conclusions, Professor Petar Emil-Mitev said further.

There is no unity of public opinion regarding protests in Bulgaria. We are witnessing dangerous delegitimization of institutions. This portends a dangerous path towards chaos with unclear outcome, the political scientist contends.
