The political parties represented at Bulgaria’s National Assembly exchanged declarations over the resolution on the rule of law in Bulgaria adopted by the European Parliament.
Dragomir Stoynev from the Bulgarian Socialist Party criticized the government and added: “ Europe showed us that Bulgaria’s democracy is ill”.
The United Patriots coalition voiced indignation with the texts of the resolution. In their view “it is pressing Bulgaria to adopt the anti-constitutional Istanbul convention” and is about corruption only- a severe problem of the entire EU”.
Toma Bikov from GERB pointed out that the resolution does not show the opinion of Europe, but of the socialists only and added: “We will not allow a double standard in Europe, because such resolution has not been adopted even on North Korea.
