A total of 21,500 trees will be planted on an area of 43 decares under the New Forest of Sofia project this autumn. This has been planned by the Sofia Municipality, initiator of the project.
Today marks the start of the autumn afforestation season.
Since 2017, when the project began, more than 7,000 volunteers have planted more than 80,000 trees. The aim of the initiative is to transform vacant municipal lands into a forest, which will become a green filter of the capital, BNR reports
