Bulgaria reports new increase in daily cases of Covid-19

Bulgaria has registered a total of 2,760 new cases of coronavirus in the country for the last 24 hours, the National Coronavirus Information Portal shows. This is 27.7% of the 9,946 PCR tests performed. 

The highest number of new infections has been registered in Sofia-city - 1,075 cases, followed by Plovdiv with 206 positive cases and Blagoevgrad with 160 cases. 
The number of medical professionals with confirmed Covid-19 is 2,087. The newly registered cases are 67.
Currently, the number of active cases in Bulgaria is 25,105, of which 2,316 are hospitalized. There are 162 people in intensive care units. 
There have been 36 new fatalities related to Covid-19. The number of cured patients over the past day amounts to 216.
For the second night in a row, the doctors and nurses from the Sofia-based hospitals went in front of the medical buildings and called on the society for solidarity in the difficult times, in which the spread of Covid-19 can be controlled only by observing the anti-epidemic measures. 
Pursuant to the order issued by the Bulgarian Minister of Health, new restrictive measures against Covid-19 enter into force for 14 days as of October 29. Among them is the suspension of the school classes for the students from 8th to 12th grade and for all universities in the country.
