Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev discussed, in a telephone conversation with his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis, the prospects for a partnership between Bulgaria and Romania within the Bulgarian hosting of the Three Seas presidential initiative, the presidency's press office announced.

During the conversation, which was held on the initiative of Rumen Radev, it was emphasized that, being as neighbours, Bulgaria and Romania have the opportunity to implement joint projects in various fields. Among them are better connectivity between the two countries in technical, energy and transport terms, as well as the pooling of scientific and technical potential in search of sustainable solutions in these areas. According to Radev, in addition to individual countries, financing can be provided through the involvement of business and international financial institutions.
President Iohannis reaffirmed his support for the Bulgarian hosting of the Three Seas Initiative in 2021, as well as Romania's readiness to share its experience and expertise from the 2018 Bucharest Summit.
