China is unlikely to give up its large-scale infrastructure program. But the EU must be ready to be very flexible to reap the benefits of this partnership, Bulgaria's Vice President Iliana Yotova said at an online conference on the Balkans in China's Strategic Vision.

Apart from waiting for Chinese projects and having Europe react as a participant in them, it is high time that Europe also had its own large-scale development project. The Juncker plan failed. Europe must have its vision for world development and crisis prevention in the coming years, Iotova said at the virtual forum organized by the Institute for Economics and International Relations and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
