4.3% GDP growth registered during third quarter

The Bulgarian economy marked a 4.3% growth rate during the third quarter compared to the second quarter, when a record decline of 10.1% was registered, National Statistical Institute data indicate. 

Compared to the third quarter of 2019, the GDP continues to shrink by 5.2% year over year. Due to the strict quarantine during the second quarter the annual decline reached 8.6%, the worst economic downturn in the country since the beginning of 1997

Final consumption registered a positive economic growth rate of 9.3% in the third quarter of 2020 compared to a year earlier. The external balance is positive, National Statistical Institute figures show.
