Unemployment falls below 7%

Unemployment in this country fell in October to 6.9% from 7.2% in September. Compared to a year earlier, unemployment was higher by 1.3 percentage points, according to data from the Employment Agency.

At the end of October, registered unemployed people in labor offices were 227,909, which is 8,149 less in comparison to September. Compared to October 2019, the rise of the registered unemployed is by 45,380. In October, 33,410 new unemployed persons were registered in the labor offices. At the same time, the number of unemployed people who started work reached 23,045, which is a rise of 31.2% compared to October 2019. Out of those who started work, 82.4% are employed in the real economy, most of them employed in the manufacturing industry and trade.
