During 2018, in Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland and Romania the EU limit value for fine particulate matter was exceeded. This is seen in a report presented today by the European Commission.

The report also points out that due to quarantines introduced in the EU during the Covid-19 pandemic, air quality has improved, with some pollutants reduced by up to 60 percent. So far, however, there is no assessment of how this improvement has affected public health, BTA reported.
