The stricter measures to limit the coronavirus have been imposed with too much delay. This is the opinion of the tourist branch in Bulgaria's ski resort of Bansko in the Pirin Mountains

The strongest month for the winter tourist season is about to fail. The idea of Germany to close winter resorts throughout Europe is already having a severe impact on the Bulgarian tourist sector. Reservations are being cancelled en masse.

The tourism industry representatives insists on allowing at least the hotel restaurants to work only for the guests in the accommodation places, as the food served in the rooms reduces the quality of the service and makes the exceptional safety measures meaningless, BNR reported.

The concessionaire of the ski area in Bansko has announced readiness to open the season on December 4th. However, it is still unclear whether this will happen.
